Foundations
Since 1993, we have been laying foundations for communties throughout the mountains and the western slope of Colorado. The key component of any building starts with a good, solid foundation.
Work at the Sankey Residence in Bachelor Gulch has S2M crews forming walls for the garage structure.
In Silverthorne, CO, S2M crews formed walls for a parking structure at the 4th Street Crossing.
External shoring for footers of the Boutique Hotel on Hyman were completed in close quarters to downtown Aspen buildings.
Flatwork
As a leader in flatwork concrete construction, S2M prides itself as a full turnkey concrete contractor that can complete your project inside and out – all in a timely manner. Flatwork refers to concrete formed and poured on a horizontal surface. Rebar or wire mesh is often used to increase the concrete’s strength and durability. We have experience with sidewalks, garage slabs, curb and gutter, super flat floors, parking garages, structural slabs and ice rinks.
Architectural Flatwork
S2M is also an expert in architectural flatwork such as decorative concrete and exposed aggregate work. Decorative concrete includes stamped or imprinted concrete, and colored or stained concrete; this is used in an interior flooring application or as an embellishment to a homeowner’s exterior patio, driveway, walkway, or steps. Exposed aggregate reveals the gravel or sand components of concrete, showcasing its true beauty.
With an increased request for decorative concrete, S2M has continued its dedication to training our employees with the most state of art techniques available today.
Architectural Walls
Over the years, S2M has created some of the most pleasing architectural projects through both form work and form liner techniques.
Board form walls enhance the retaining walls used for an Aspen, Colorado Residence’s driveway.
S2M completed concrete formwork on a reaction wall for the Structural Testing Lab at the University of Wyoming’s High Bay Research Facility.
The Concrete Arch puts a nice finish on work S2M performed for the Highway 82 Basalt, Colorado pedestrian underpass.
Specialty work
S2M has participated in multiple construction projects that offer unique challenges. These projects have required our crews to come up with custom solutions.
The Zales Residence in Aspen, CO shows cast in place structural concrete steps completed with a board form finish.
Custom forms had to be built for the dive platforms and auditorium seating at Laramie High School in Laramie, Wyoming.
S2M crews worked on the bottom slab for a new clarifier in Carbondale, Colorado. The work is an upgrade to Carbondale’s Wastewater Treatment Plant.
